Hi Birdies!

Hello everyone! Happy Saturday! I posted this creation on my instagram a few days ago and as promised here it is on my blog. The stamp sets that I used for this cute and colourful card are now both retired (although, I think the floral set has a few left at www.lawnfawn.com). Speaking of the flowers, I love the set because of the various uses you can apply to creations. It can be used as a focal point, accent or as a border--just like what I did on this card. The berries and vines were stamped on top of the flowers after I coloured it, I just love the effect! The little birds are one of my favourite bird images from lawn fawn, I like how it is bigger than their usual critter images. I rarely put white specs on my critters but I was encouraged to put some this time and of course the rosy cheeks!!! A simple sentiment on fancy stitched frame balances out the intricate images.

A trio of hearts for extra love!

Is it just me or some of these flowers resembles cinnamon buns-LOL

We Got This!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I got this bird image from a stamp set that I received for my birthday 2 months ago and I have been dying to use the birdies! Now that I got the time, I decided to pick the sad bird. At first I didn't know what theme should I do and then I found the perfect sentiment in my stash! I did some copic colouring on the image and fuzzy cut it (is it just me that tries to save neenah solar white for images?--LOL) and restamped the image on a white cardstock from Michael's. I haven't used my background stamps in long time and I thought that the distressed looking "stains" work perfectly with the sad birdie. I feel that cards like such would be a great picker upper to anyone who is having a bad day or going through something (plus! it is gender neutral). I hope you guys enjoy this!

Brian

I used a brown mat from my scrap stash to add some pattern

I decided to go with a blue colour for the bird since it is quite complimentary with yellow and brown tones

Birthday Fishes!

Oh wow it has been over a month since my last post! Spring courses does take over one's crafting time eh? It has been very hot (for my taste at least) here in my side of the globe lately and I used it as an inspiration for this creation. Who doesn't love fishes?! They are so cute and it reminds me the cool waters of the sea. The recepient of this fishy goodness is my boyfriend's cousin--and I think she liked it (well, she is a big animal lover LOL). Later crafters!

Having a coloured strip layered on top of a white background add the perfect interest on a CAS style

The faux stitching on the white mat is a great addition to any card
